AUDITIONS - A Bronx Tale

WHAT TO BRING: Headshot and Resume. And your conflicts.


PLEASE PREPARE: 16-32 measures of a Musical Theater song in the style of the show. You may also sing from the score. Be prepared to learn a short dance routine.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS 


CALOGERO - [Bb2 - Bb4]  Late Teen, Young Adult - Male - Italian American

This is his story, just another Bronx tale. A bright Italian American kid, caught between the life lessons of his father and the “number one man in the neighborhood,” Sonny. Matters get more complicated when he falls for a girl everyone tells him he shouldn’t.


SONNY -  [A2 - Ab4] Adult - Male - Italian American

The charismatic gangster who charms young “C” despite showing he is capable of both encouragement and violent murder. He runs the neighborhood and hangs at the bar below Calogero’s apartment.


LORENZO - [A2 - Ab4] Adult - Male - Italian American

Calogero’s father, teaching his son to be a good man and not waste his talent. Works tirelessly for his family as a noble bus driver.


JANE - [A3 - G5] Late Teen, Young Adult Female - Black

A beautiful, Black American schoolmate of Calogero from Webster Street. He keeps looking her way fondly, and despite the stigmas she starts to look back the same way. Clever, savvy and loyal to her brother.


YOUNG CALOGERO - [B3 - Eb5] Child Male - Italian American

Pre-teen Calogero is drawn in by the attention and privilege that comes with Sonny’s favoritism, despite his father’s warnings and forbiddance.


ROSINA - [F3 - D5] Adult Female - Italian American

Calogero’s mother. Supportive, encouraging and protective over her whole family.


TYRONE - [C3 - C5] Late Teen, Young Adult Male - Black

Jane’s brother. Is attacked on Belmont Ave, blames Calogero.


FRIEDA & DENISE - Late Teen, Young Adult Female - Black

Jane’s disapproving friends. featured dancers and backup singers. 


JESSE -  Late Teen, Young Adult Male - Black 

Tyrone’s best friend, from Webster street.


SALLY SLICK/HANDSOME NICK/CRAZY MARIO - Late Teen, Young Adult Male - Italian American - Calogero’s crew, wise guys from Belmont Ave.


ENSEMBLE: Seeking STRONG DANCE/VOCAL ensemble of actors for many featured numbers as various background and featured parts including: Doo Wop Girls/Guys, Webster Street Crew, Rudy the Voice, Club Girls, Street Extras, Motor-Cycle Gang, and various WISE GUYS (Frankie Coffeecake, Eddie Mush, Jojo the Whale, Tony Ten to Two, Louie Beans, Carmine, etc.) 


BONUS!!: Training in multiple dance styles plus any other “sidewalk game” type skills such as Double Dutch, hula-hoop, street percussion, etc are encouraged to display at auditions!!

2025 Season Video Submissions



You may submit a video to lighthouserepauditions@gmail.com for consideration for any of our 2025 productions.  Be sure to put "YOUR NAME - 2025 VIDEO SUBMISSION" in the subject line. Send 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song of your choice.  If auditioning for plays only - send a 1- minute monologue of your choice.
