Ray Gobes Jr. is a professional actor who has played dozens of roles in Theatre, Film, and Television over a 40 year career in entertainment. He is also a director, acting teacher, and certified accountant. He holds a B.A. in Drama and a Masters Degree in Secondary Education. Ray’s journey into the arts started when a summer vacation turned into five summers touring with The Joie Chitwood’s Thrill Show. This ignited a spark in him that led him to change his major from Accounting to Drama. Ray went on to perform in and direct many stage plays, teach acting classes, and work as an English teacher where he taught the students how to produce plays in schools across Long Island - all while continuing to do seasonal tax perparation work at his father’s business. Years later a friend would give him some advice that launched his film and T.V. career. Ray is excited to combine his creative skills and passions with his accounting background to help Lighthouse bring impactful theatre to the Long Island community.
